The South African Nuclear Energy Corporation (Necsa) has chosen CE at UP to present the Programme in Engineering Management to 25 of its technical professionals. The programme is being offered on an in-house basis and has been customised to provide management education for technical professionals involved or interested in management within technology-based enterprises.
The programme offers balanced training in both technical and general management and has multiple modules. It provides delegates with portable concepts that can be applied and adapted to almost any Engineering Management situation.
Training commenced on 23 March and will run until 11 September. The delegates have been attending classes at the Graduate Centre at the university.
Necsa conducted thorough research in education sector and chose CE at UP and PEM above all other institutions in SA. CE at UP has become recognised for its ethical business processes and for dealing fairly with clients. The institution offers professional development through quality career-focused courses in association with the University of Pretoria.
The training contract with Necsa has given CE at UP an opportunity to partner with industry and customise training products to meet insufficiencies and empower knowledge in the industry sector. In the current climate, training is needed to empower people to make a difference.
A cocktail function was held to celebrate the start of the programme and the start of a successful long-term relationship between CE at UP, UP and Necsa. (Please scroll down for photographs.)
